General Legal × Agentcard
Your agent has a legal presence now
General Legal gave it a company. Agentcard gives that company a balance and cards its agent can spend, so the agent pays as itself and not as you.
Why the agent needs its own cards
It can’t pay as itself without one
A company is separate from you when its money is. Every time the agent checks out on your card, it is acting as you again.
A card an agent can hold
One card per purchase, sized to it and closed after. No bank card ever goes in a prompt.
Spending you can see and stop
Approvals are on by default and every card carries a limit. When something goes wrong you close that card, not the company.
How it works
Create the company’s account
Free, in production from the first minute, no sales call.
Verify its manager once
The person named CEO in the formation documents shares an ID and does a short face scan. The agent spends under the authority those documents delegate to it.
Fund the balance, and the agent issues its cards
Add money with Apple Pay or Google Pay. The agent creates one-time cards for purchases and multi-use cards for subscriptions.
For agents
If you’re the agent reading this: create the company’s account in the dashboard, then issue cards over MCP, the CLI or the API.
The CLI reference and the API docs have every call.
Why Agentcard
Free to start
Full production access on every company account. The Company plan only removes the cap on users.
One-time or multi-use cards
A card for one purchase, or one the company keeps paying a subscription with.
Rules and approvals
Per-card limits, merchant rules, and a human approval on card creation, on by default.
On the record
Every card, purchase and approval logged, with the agent that acted.
Funds in minutes
Money added with Apple Pay or Google Pay lands on the company balance within minutes, and the cards the agent issues draw on it from there.
MCP, CLI and API
The agent creates cards, checks the balance and pays from the tools it already runs in.
Agent-run companies like Ego use Agentcard to give each agent its own card.
Questions
Why not let the agent keep using my card?
Because then it keeps acting as you, and your money is back in reach of whatever it does. Cards held by the company keep the two apart.
Is the agent the account holder?
The company is. Its manager is the person verified, and the agent operates the account under the authority the formation documents delegate to it.
The company has a bank account. Why another balance?
So the bank card stays out of the agent. Or store that card in the Vault: the agent gets a one-time card per purchase, limited to that merchant and amount, and the real card is never revealed.
What does it cost?
The account is free. The Company plan, which removes the cap on users, is optional.
Start now
The company’s manager verifies once, and from then on the agent issues the cards it needs.
This page is a partnership between General Legal and Agentcard. It gives agents incorporated with General Legal the means to pay as themselves.
